Materials Engineering · King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
Omar Hassan is a PhD candidate in Materials Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, supervised by Prof. Husam Alshareef. His thesis engineers perovskite-on-silicon tandem photovoltaic architectures with certified power conversion efficiencies exceeding 30 percent, optimising hole transport layers and encapsulation strategies for Gulf climate durability. Nine publications in Nature Energy and ACS Energy Letters report his efficiency records and long-term stability studies. Omar has collaborated with Saudi Aramco's energy technology division and is named on three PCT patent applications. He was selected for the Saudi Vision 2030 clean energy talent programme and has received acquisition interest from two solar technology companies. His perovskite tandem modules are undergoing outdoor reliability testing at KAUST.
