Nanotechnology · University of Bologna
Valentina Rossi is a PhD candidate in Nanotechnology at the University of Bologna, supervised by Prof. Nicola Pugno. Her thesis fabricates and characterises graphene aerogel composite panels with tunable electromagnetic shielding effectiveness across 5G and 6G frequency bands, targeting antenna-integrated structural components in telecommunications base stations. Seven publications in Carbon and Composites Part B document her aerogel synthesis, compression behaviour and shielding performance. Valentina's work is co-funded by Nokia Bell Labs and she holds one European patent application. She was selected for the ERC StG team exchange programme and has received offers from Leonardo and Huawei's materials research centres. Her composite panels have passed standardised EMC shielding tests at frequencies up to 110 GHz.
